WHO THEY ARE

About Spirent.

Spirent Communications is a UK-founded provider of network test, automation and assurance solutions, established in 1936 and long headquartered in Crawley. Since October 2025 it has been part of Keysight Technologies following a USD 1.46 billion acquisition; its high-speed Ethernet, network security and channel-emulation test lines were divested to VIAVI Solutions as part of that deal. Spirent is known for validating 5G core and RAN, positioning, navigation and timing (PNT), and live-network performance.

Within Keysight, the Spirent portfolio spans Landslide for 5G core and O-RAN testing, the PNT X and PNT Xe GNSS simulators, Velocity lab automation and VisionWorks service assurance. These are relevant to mobile operators, defence and government agencies, aerospace programmes and large enterprises across the Middle East that must validate cloud-native networks, resilient positioning and mission-critical services before and after deployment, now backed by Keysight's global engineering and support organisation.

LATEST SOLUTIONS

The portfolio, today.

01

Landslide

Core network and O-RAN test platform that emulates millions of subscribers and devices to validate 5G standalone cores, cloud-native network functions and Open RAN components for operators and network equipment vendors.

02

PNT X and PNT Xe

GNSS and PNT simulators that generate all constellations, RF threats and alternative signals, from the flagship PNT X to the compact PNT Xe, for defence, aerospace, automotive and timing test teams.

03

VisionWorks and UMetrix

Service assurance and active monitoring that measure real user experience across mobile, fixed and cloud services, helping operators find and fix quality issues before customers notice them.

04

Velocity Lab and Test Automation

Velocity Core and Velocity iTest orchestrate shared lab resources and automate test execution, so large test organisations can reserve, configure and run environments repeatably across teams.

05

Wireless and Wi-Fi Test

Octobox over-the-air Wi-Fi test systems and the 8100 device location test platform verify wireless performance and emergency-location accuracy for device makers, chipset vendors and mobile carriers.

AI FOCUS

Domain-trained agentic AI for network testing and assurance

Spirent's AI direction centres on embedding purpose-built, domain-trained assistants into its test and assurance workflows rather than generic chat tools. In February 2026 it introduced Spirent Luma, an agentic AI trained on decades of Spirent network-testing expertise. Luma interprets logs and KPIs, diagnoses failures and lets engineers troubleshoot in natural language, reducing dependence on scarce specialist knowledge.

Luma launched first on Landslide, with integrations planned for VisionWorks service assurance and Velocity lab automation. Beyond AI inside its tools, Spirent's portfolio supports AI-era infrastructure: Landslide Cloud Infrastructure Benchmarking measures the CPU, memory, storage and Kubernetes distributions that host cloud-native network functions, and its assurance products track the service quality of networks carrying AI-driven workloads.

  • Spirent Luma agentic AI assistant for Landslide testing workflows
  • Natural-language troubleshooting that interprets logs and KPIs
  • Planned Luma integrations across VisionWorks and Velocity
  • Cloud-native infrastructure benchmarking for Kubernetes-hosted network functions

WHAT'S NEW

Recent announcements.

  1. Expanded PNT capabilities shown at ION GNSS+ 2026

Keysight demonstrated PNT X with sensor fusion, LEO PNT and signals of opportunity, and paired PNT Xe with its UXM platform for combined GNSS and non-terrestrial network testing, showing how Spirent's PNT line now sits within the Keysight portfolio.

  2. Spirent Luma agentic AI for testing and assurance

Spirent introduced Luma, described as the first domain-trained agentic AI for network testing and assurance. Initially available for Landslide, it helps teams interpret results, troubleshoot faster and reduce reliance on small pools of specialist experts.

  3. PNT Xe extends GNSS simulation to more users

Spirent launched PNT Xe, a compact, economical GNSS simulator supporting all constellations and frequencies, so developers, integrators and production-line testers can use consistent test methodology across the development lifecycle.

  4. Keysight completes acquisition of Spirent

Keysight Technologies completed its USD 1.46 billion acquisition of Spirent on 15 October 2025, retaining the PNT, wireless emulation, automation and assurance lines, while VIAVI acquired the high-speed Ethernet, network security testing and channel-emulation businesses.
